UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) is the United Nations refugee agency.
For 70 years, we have been leading and coordinating relief efforts around the world to protect refugees and find solutions to the refugee situation.
In the short term, we strive to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. In the long term, our goal is to assist refugees in returning to their country of origin when it is safe to do so. If that is not possible, UNHCR offers support for integration in the country where they are staying or helps them resettle in a new country.
