Threads From Our Dutch Slavery Past

  • Date:
  • Location: Nest

In June, Nest opened its doors for a special collective making process: Threads of our Dutch slavery past. All summer long, a monumental tapestry depicting South Holland's colonial slavery past will be worked on in the exhibition space. From June 23 to 27, Nest organized a special program around the project. Throughout the summer you can collaborate on the tapestry every week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

In late June, during Ketikoti month, Nest will organize a week full of (children's) workshops, a discussion evening in collaboration with De Balie and other activities around the Dutch history of slavery.

Throughout the summer you can collaborate on part of the tapestry three days a week. Whether you have experience or not, you are welcome to participate! A textile expert will be present each day to help you.

Registration is not required.
