Rob Bauer witnessed the Russian invasion of Ukraine from NATO headquarters. As the alliance's highest-ranking military officer, he knew better than anyone that this marked the dawn of a new era. On the occasion of the publication of Wie vrede wil, moet zich op oorlog voorbereiden (If you want peace, prepare for war), Rob Bauer poignantly shows how we must prepare for war in the service of peace. Through personal stories and sharp analyses, the admiral makes it clear how much we need to change in order to preserve our current freedom.

From the NATO engine room to the boardroom, every part of society will have to realize that peace can no longer be taken for granted. How can we prepare society for this? Rob Bauer is a lieutenant admiral. Until the beginning of this year, he was NATO's highest-ranking military officer and, prior to that, Commander of the Armed Forces.

Eleonora Russell was a strategic communications advisor to NATO's military leadership, is an award-winning speechwriter, and will host the evening.

The book will be published on June 17. After the evening, the book will be available for purchase and there will be a book signing.
