Just Peace Movie Night: Behind the Numbers

  • Date: 20 June
  • Time: 18:30
  • Location: Bibliotheek Nieuw Waldeck

As part of the Just Peace Festival, Just Peace is organizing film nights in collaboration with The Hague Library - 'Just Peace Movie Nights'. On Friday, June 20, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., you are welcome at Nieuw Waldeck Library for a special screening of the film Behind the Numbers.

This film evening is part of the Just Peace Festival. We invite you to join us for the film and stay for the discussion afterwards. During the discussion, the speakers will take us further into the making of the film. The guests will be announced at a later date.

The film starts at 6:30 p.m., and the discussion begins at 8:00 p.m.

Behind The Numbers sheds light on the socio-economic exclusion that people within the LGBTIQ+ community face every day. The film tells the stories of an intersex person from Zimbabwe, a lesbian couple from Bangkok, and a trans woman from the Netherlands.

All of these individuals face the same heteronormative obstacles, each for different reasons. The film was made for the #FreetobeMe program of Hivos by Human Rights in the Picture, by three local film teams from Zimbabwe, the Netherlands, and Thailand, and director Andy Funnell.
