Just Peace Movie Night: The Sharp Edge of Peace

As part of the Just Peace Festival, Just Peace, in collaboration with Cordaid, is organizing the film screening of The Shard Edge of Peace. On Thursday, June 19, from 18:45 to 22:00, you are welcome at the Wheat House for this special film screening.

What happens when women who have everything to lose still sit down at the negotiating table with their oppressors? We would like to invite you to a special film evening about the courage, resilience and fight for peace by Afghan women. On Thursday 19 June in Het Koorenhuis in The Hague.

Together we watch the impressive documentary The Sharp Edge of Peace. This film follows 4 courageous Afghan women who enter into talks with the Taliban as peace negotiators in 2020. They risk their lives in the face of men who are determined to deny their most basic rights.

After the documentary , we will have a deeper conversation. There will be a panel discussion with filmmaker Leslie Thomas, gender expert Anne Kwakkenbos and Afghan Cordaid colleagues who had to flee their country. And we will end the evening with drinks to chat and share stories.
