Thousands of people will gather in The Hague on 26 October with one clear message to politicians: it’s time for action—now. After yet another government has failed on climate policy, the Netherlands is at a standstill. While floods, droughts, and wildfires increase worldwide, major polluters remain untouched. The climate crisis is not left or right—it affects us all. Climate change is a reality, and delaying action is no longer an option. Hold major polluters and billionaires accountable. Stop fossil fuel subsidies and present a fair phase-out plan for fossil fuels. Time is running out—choose the future.

With only five years left until 2030, the year in which the Netherlands must achieve its climate goals, delay is no longer an option. Recent reports from PBL, KNMI, and the Council of State are unanimous: current policy falls far short. It’s time for political courage and responsibility.

On Saturday, 26 October, thousands will march in The Hague for Climate March 2025, organized by the Climate Crisis Coalition. With a powerful set of demands, we call on politicians to choose people, nature, and a livable future. These elections are a turning point: they reveal which parties choose courage and the future, and which choose fear and stagnation.

“Cabinet after cabinet chooses to spare major polluters instead of protecting people. It is up to us to change this. Just before the elections, we will take to the streets en masse and demand from the next government”:

Broad coalition of participants
The Climate Crisis Coalition is a partnership of Oxfam Novib, Fridays For Future, Greenpeace, Extinction Rebellion, Fossielvrij NL, Milieudefensie, Grootouders voor het Klimaat, Jonge Klimaatbeweging, DeGoedeZaak, and many other civil society organizations. The march brings together people from all corners of society, united in the pursuit of a livable future.
