Walking Tour: Political Powerhouse Women

This autumn, join our walking tour about famous women in political history — women who had a vision and fought to achieve it.

Famous Women: From Jacoba of Bavaria to Marga Klompé
The guide will take you along the Gevangenpoort (Prison Gate), where Kaat Mossel was imprisoned for her (alleged) rebellion against the patriots, and to the statue of Queen Wilhelmina — a resolute woman in a shapeless coat. At the corner by the Hofvijver, the story of Marga Klompé comes to life: the woman who laid the foundation for the Dutch welfare state and became the first female minister of the Netherlands. These and many other political power women are featured during this themed walking tour through The Hague’s political heart.
