Road to Summit, The Hague programme of Peace and Justice

Hosting Global Justice: The Netherlands and international courts (ICJ & ICC)

  • Date: 12 May
  • Time 17:00 - 19:00
  • Location: Universiteit Leiden, room: 2.21

This event will be held entirely in English.

It is often suggested that the Netherlands, as host country to both the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC), occupies a “special position” when it comes to compliance with international law. But what exactly does this mean? In this Studium Generale lecture, Otto Spijkers and Letizia Lo Giacco will discuss the legal and political dimensions of this “special position.” The lecture will be chaired by Niels Blokker.

Registration

LU cardholders can attend the lecture without registering. Everyone who registers will receive a reminder with practical details the day before the lecture.
