Westelijke Jordaanoever, 1988. Wanneer een Palestijnse tiener bij een protest tegen Israëlische soldaten betrokken raakt, vertelt zijn moeder het familieverhaal dat hen tot dit noodlottige moment heeft geleid. Ze vertelt over de zeven decennia in het leven van hun ontwortelde familie, die al sinds 1948 uit hun huizen zijn verdreven en de onvermoeibare strijd om samen een waardig leven te kunnen leiden.
