Depending on the funds, we want to make PRISMA a recurring program!

After a beautiful and successful first edition, we like to bring more great artists on stage that we think you should have seen once! Again, expect a nice mix of disciplines in this edition.

Music/song/storyteller - XILLAN

Dance/performance - Amira al Rawi

Shortfilm - Hadi Moussally

Expo - Wassila Aouragh

Spoken word - Jowi Len

Host - Hasan Gök

As a storyteller in music, literature and theater, XILLAN promises to add new colors to this edition. Furthermore, we will enjoy dancer and creator Amira Al Rawi, who shares with us a special and personal dance performance about mourning. Amira brings together soft and explosive power in her movements influenced by house/voguing and waacking.

Jowi Len (She/Her) is a spoken word artist, copywriter & occasional dancer.  Finally, in this edition we present the beautiful short film Sultana's Reign made by h7o7 studio/Hadi Moussally from Paris, in which we follow Palestinian drag queen in her journey as a performer and the self-acceptance and celebration of herself in all her expression. We hope to bring this program back to the stage after the summer.

Amira al Rawi is a young dancer who has developed into an extraordinary creator with a mission to tell stories. Fragile stories with an intimate character. From a sociological perspective, Amira deploys stories to make the viewer think about taboos. By employing dance, she sidesteps the discomfort of conversation and sparks the viewer's imagination and empathy.

Starting out in the Hip Hop scene, Amira has developed her own authentic style which consists of a friction of graceful symbolism and raw flow. Influences come from dance styles including Voguing, Waacking, House and Breakdance. In 2017, Amira will create her first performance with coaching from Shailesh Bahoran: Bouie. Nadia is Amira's first solo performance in which she reflects on the great sorrow of losing her mother. For this performance, she was coached by Shailesh Bahoran and Leo Spreksel. Exploring the friction between her conflicting cultural norms and values, Amira developed her second solo performance called Layla under the guidance of Lloyd Marengo and Leo Spreksel. Amira is far from finished and will develop more theatrical performances in the coming years.

XILLAN (Xillan Macrooy) is a Surinamese-Dutch storyteller in music, literature and theater. As a product of multiple worlds, the constant transformation of identity plays an important role in his work. As a creator in 2025 and 2026, he explores new ways to celebrate his plurality, aiming to build new artistic worlds that both accommodate (Surinamese queer) legacy and innovation.

Jowi Len (she/her) is a spoken word artist, copywriter and occasional dancer. Her interest in cross-cultural experience and identity has shaped her work. She strives to build bridges with her stories.

Expo - Wassila Aouragh

My love for photography began at an early age. Initially, I captured important moments of family and friends, always carrying my analog camera. Soon this expanded to events such as weddings, not only for acquaintances, but for a wider audience. However, my true passion lies in capturing human emotions and historical moments, both in my immediate surroundings and worldwide. Always from my own perspective, I try to bring the viewer into my vision of the world and what is currently going on. My work mainly focuses on social issues, such as human rights. Through photography, I hope to offer others a new perspective and connect them with my view of the world. Photography has brought me many things, such as new opportunities, experiences, encounters and friendships.

About PRISMA

PRISMA is curated and presented by poet, spoken word artist and presenter Hasan Gök (he/he) at the invitation of Laaktheater.

In a world where sound from the queer community is often muted or unheard, we want to present a program where the queer experience in all its length and breadth is given room to find voice in the theater. Even beyond the well-known holidays and celebrations. Celebrating, grieving and everything in between and beyond. Just like that, because it deserves it. During the program series, we present the different colors that make up the sparkling light of community. Like the form, irrepressible, unusual, boundary-crossing and luminous. Expect a coming together of different music, dance, poetry and most of all love.
