Inclusion, (In)Equality and Diversity

How can inclusion, equality and diversity contribute to peace and justice? How do we create a world where everyone feels represented, heard and valued?

This theme will unpack the structural roots of inequality, from economic and social disparities to institutional and historical injustices. It examines how global systems of power and privilege operate and how we can build more inclusive societies. We will also explore the role of cultural diversity as a strength in conflict resolution and sustainable change, alongside the challenges posed by polarisation and growing divides between communities.

The local context of The Hague, as the international city of peace and justice and a city experiencing rising inequality between its communities, provides a unique lens for this discussion. How can we address inequality within our own city, give diverse groups a voice in decision-making, and ensure a more inclusive and just society?
