Walk: Political Power Women

  • Date:
  • Time: 12:30
  • Location: ProDemos

Please note: this is a Dutch-speaking event.

This spring, you can once again join our walk about famous women from political history who pursued an ideal and fought for it. The walk is offered every weekday from February 16th. On Saturday, March 7th, the day before International Women's Day, we offer the walk three times.

Famous women: from Jacoba van Beieren to Marga Klompé

The guide will take you past the Prison Gate, where Kaat Mossel was imprisoned for her (alleged) rebellion against the patriots, and to the statue of Queen Wilhelmina: a warrior in a shapeless coat. At the corner near the Hofvijver, we'll feature Marga Klompé, the founder of the Dutch welfare state and the first female minister in the Netherlands. These and many other powerful political women will be featured during this themed tour of The Hague's political center.
